The recent viewings of the planet
Mars were impressive, but on Oct. 3,
the “Rings of Saturn” will come into
view when Perry Saturn takes on the
Pacific Northwest’s own The Warlord
Blake Kruel at Body Slam in the Sand
II at Chinook Winds Casino.
The card for this event also includes
matches between lady wrestlers The
Lovely Madison and Avalon, and
midget wrestling with Little Nasty Boy
and Pod. Also on the card are
Goldenboy vs. Mighty Henrich,
Thunder vs. Gentlemen George
Michael, and Michelle Star vs. Parka.
In his pro wrestling career, Perry
Saturn has earned an esteemed TV Title
and two tag team titles. Wrestling
aficionados say he’s one of the nice
guys and even when injured, gives
every match and the fans his all. His
time with the WWE and WCW helped
him perfect his signature finishing
move, the Rings of Saturn. The Warlord
Blake Kruel is ready, able, and more
than willing to take on Perry Saturn.

Air Supply was introduced to
American audiences when Rod Stewart
asked them to join him on tour. Air
Supply signed a $1.5 million inter
national deal with Arista and released
Lost In Love in the U.S. In February
1980, the song had already reached
No. 3 on Billboard’s charts. This was
the first of seven consecutive singles to
enter the American top five.
Over the next three years, Air
Supply produced hit after chart-rating
hit: All Out Of Love, Every Woman In
The World, Sweet Dreams, Even The
Nights Are Better, and the smash hit
Making Love Out Of Nothing At All,
which remained at the No. 2 spot on
Billboard’s charts for three weeks.
In 1991, the group came back strong
with the release of a new album, The
Earth Is, beginning a trend of a new album
released every other year. In 1995, in
Taipei, Taiwan, they recorded their Great
est Hits Live album, their first live album.

Valentine’s Day a year just isn’t enough.
To help everyone feel lovey-dovey, Air
Supply will perform at Chinook Winds
Casino on Oct. 3-4 at 8 p.m.
The genesis of Air Supply began
during an Australian production of
Jesus Christ, Superstar in 1974. Russell
Hitchcock and Graham Russell had
both obtained roles as apostles. During
breaks in rehearsal, Russell would sit
by himself and play his guitar. Before
long, Hitchcock wandered over and
began singing along with Russell’s
tunes. The two quickly discovered a
smooth musical harmony as well as a
friendship that would prove to endure
over the years.
As they sang at Australian coffee
houses, their soft, mellow tunes
competed with hard rock and glam
rock, which were popular at that time.
Russell supplied the name when they
formed their own group, dubbing it Air
Supply because he thought of their
music as a “breath of fresh air.”

The first two drawings of each day
will be for air travel from Portland to

Senior Fair 2003 Features

Plans are being made for Senior
Fair 2003, scheduled for Oct. 7-8 at
Chinook Winds Casino.
“We are receiving a tremendous
response from seniors throughout the
region,” said Roger Robertson, Senior
Fair 2003 organizer. “We have had
inquiries for information from as far
away as Houston, Texas,” he added.
Oregon and Washington chapters of
AARP and retired teacher organizations
will be invited to the event. Event
information has appeared in Modern
Maturity magazine, one of the most
widely distributed magazines in the U.S.
“We will have a variety of local
entertainers,” said entertainment
coordinator Phil Robertson. “The really
big attractions will be the two grand
prize drawings, which this year will be
a trip to Hawaii for two and the second
is a cruise for two, all thanks to Chinook
Winds Casino,” he added.
The Lincoln County Health Depart
ment will offer a variety of immuniza
tions, including flu shots for seniors.
Businesses that are sponsoring
booths are as varied as the enter
tainment, said Phil. “We have travel and
insurance agencies, bankers, heating
contractors, Factory Stores, investment
counselors, and people to help you with
your pets,” he said. Phil went on to add,
“We will have health care professionals,
including Samaritan North Lincoln
Hospital, and also employment oppor
tunities for seniors.”
