Christiansen Open Own Business
Divona Christiansen has opened
DMC Drafting Services with the help
of a loan from the Business Loan
Program through the Business
Information Center.
Divona’s business is based in
Lebanon, Ore. She does technical
drawings of mills to keep them up to
date and safe. Electricians then use her
drawings to wire a new or rewire an
existing building and set up the entire
electrical system. She currently is on
contract with Weyerhaeuser in Albany.
Divona has been in the drafting
business for 15 years. “I always liked
drawing as a child, but with freehand
(drawing), you starve until you die, then
become famous,” she said. ‘‘I didn’t
want to go that route.”
She took a drafting class in the
eighth grade, liked it, and a career was
born. She’s available to work in a
variety - paper, metals, or wood - of
manufacturing mills statewide. She
does on-site and off-site contracting.
‘‘People should give me a call
because it’s more direct and you get
personal contact,” Divona said. “It’s just
me. There’s no chain of command or
red tape to go through.”
Divona started her business after
completing the 11-week “Starting a
Successful Business” course presented
by ONABEN. She highly recommends
it for anyone who is thinking about
starting a business.

Christopher Whalen recently received
a loan from the Business Loan Program
through the Business Information
Center. Their business is called
Hawkeye One Motorsports and they
have plenty to offer when it comes to
auto and truck accessories.
“We didn’t want to just limit
ourselves there. To survive the seasons,
we offer a broad assortment for our
customers’ needs, “ said Kristina.

vides spray-on bed liners, truck ac
cessories, window tinting, and for boats
- wake boarding.
While Kristina is managing most
of the front office, Christopher is busy
in back installing their various
accessories. But, Kristina added, she
also lends a hand in back when needed.
Their shop is located in Phoenix,
Ariz., at 4014 East Broadway Road,
Suite 401. Although the shop is far
away for some, Kristina says they’ll
gladly take telephone orders. You can
