Kessinger Starts Real Estate Career
by Barry Kessinger
My name is Barry Kessinger and I am a member of the Siletz Tribe. I recently
began a new career in real estate, working with the top real estate office in Salem.
If anyone has any questions about their house that they would like answered,
feel free to call me. I’m also involved in the ONABEN classes with my cousin,
Jared, right now in hopes of starting a business soon. My hobbies are playing
basketball and working.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Alfred Lane IV
Receives
Scholarship
More than $200,000 in scholarship
awards for the 2002-2003 academic
year have been announced by the
Oregon State University Foundation
Scholarship Awards Committee.
Alfred Lane IV, a sophomore in
university exploratory studies, is one of
60 scholarship recipients. He received
a $5,000 Helen J. and Harold Gilman
Smith Native American Scholarship.
The total awarded last year was less
than $150,000.
Pam Powell, OSU Foundation
scholarship administrator, says awards
to students of Native American descent
increased in part because of the greater
number of qualified applicants. “Last
year, few Native American students
applied for those scholarships. I’m glad
the word is getting out that funding is
available and that students must apply
through the OSU Foundation for these
scholarships.’’
Congratulations!
