LCPL Deidre A. Beaston (Deeds)
- Welcome back to the States. Okinawa,
Japan, was just too far away. Look at
you, one more year of the Marines and
you’re out of there. Being so far away
makes you appreciate all the pulling
hair, telling on each other, holding
each other’s hand when they’re scared,
sad, lonely.
I’ve missed you so much. I can’t
wait to see you and meet your new man.
But most of all, I've missed you holding
my hand when I’m scared, knowing
that you’re just as freaked out as I am.
The whole family is proud of you!
You did it when everyone said you
couldn’t. You have always been there
for me and I have always picked you
up and given you a hug when some guy
left. That’s what Nays do best. I’ve tried
my hardest to save you from the big
bad wolves.
But look at you now, Sissy. You are
a strong, beautiful, independent young
lady. Don’t ever let anyone tell you
different. My little Sissy, I love you so
much more than peanut butter and jam.
When things get hard and you feel

helpless, just remember who held
whose hand when it was dark.
Hold your head high and stand up
straight, shoulders back, and smile.
Don’t let them see you hurt or cry.
Throw your hand in the sky with
your fist clinched and yell, “Free

Evan Tyee Moody Jurado -
Mommy loves you so much and I want
to wish you a very happy birthday. You
came into mommy’s life on Dec. 27,
2000, at 6:17 p.m. You were 7 pounds,
6 ounces, and the greatest thing in the
world. We have been through so much
in this year, but we did it together. I
love you and look forward to the next
birthdays to come. Happy 1“.

Sharing plays an intricate part in
the rearing of all my children. Such a
wonderful gift when coming from the
heart (for both the giver and receiver).
I am sure my children will not mind
(sharing) what was written for them
during a brief period of mis
understanding. I believe unity, respect,
love, and well-being need to be nurtured
from our home fires of enlightenment.
You are a member of this family
You are enjoyed
You are loved
We take no sides, all of our children
are valued equally
We listen, we hear, and we accept
each of you as an individual
We appreciate your differences, we
respect your individuality
Your right to your own space, ideas,
and creativity
But, we all have one common bond,
we are family
If not nurtured with respect
Pampered with love
Strengthened with harmony
Surly, we will weaken, wither and
fall away
You are a member of this family
You are truly blessed and cherished
Love, your mother
