Interest/hobbies: I love to go

documentaries, current events, and
biographies. I enjoy classical music
and anything pertaining to the arts.
Education: Assumption
Convent from first grade through
first year of college in Manila; BA
degree from Immaculate Heart
College in Hollywood, Calif.
Work: Medical field for 21
years - six years at Mercy Medical

nursing assistant; 15 years at
McKenzie Willamette Hospital in
Springfield, Ore. I also have worked
in the following departments:
surgery, medical, nursery, OB,
emergency, EKG, recovery or
transport, endoscopy, and short

I have survived WWII. I was
living in the outskirts of Manila
when the Japanese bombed Manila.
We were never hurt, but the
Japanese came to our home often
to see if we had short-wave radios.
They eventually took our home
away from us toward the end.

Jr. Miss Siletz, and Little Miss
Siletz. All proposals must include

the following address:
Bob S. and Maria Westervelt
I am very proud to be my
mother’s daughter, I am proud to
be a member of the Siletz Tribe and
all that they have done for me and
continue to do. I will endeavor to
help my people to the best of my
ability. My goals are to work very
hard on getting an elders’ care
facility started in Siletz and also to
try to minimize the drug scene on
the reservation.
Advice
to
younger
generation: “Stay away from the
foibles and destructive ways of
society. Work hard and open your
minds and hearts to better yourself.
Try not to be a podsnap (a noun
meaning a person embodying
insular complacency and self
satisfaction and refusal to face up
to unpleasant facts). Amen!”
