RUN TO THE ROGUE

Selene Rilatos and Darian Dorman, the
youngest child attending the ceremony,
help retire the eagle feather staff used in
the first five Runs to the Rogue.
The new eagle feather staff includes
the following materials:
Myrtlewood from the Rogue River Valley
Leather wrap produced at Culture Camp
5 eagle feathers - a symbolic number to
Coastal tribes
5 sets of 5 flicker feathers - from one of the
spirit birds, representing all the bands
of the Siletz Tribe
Separator beads -
Yellow - for the East
Red - for the South
Black - for the West
White - for the North
Blue - for the sky
Green - for Mother Earth
Purple - for the Creator
Red feather wrap - to follow the Red Road,
the walk of goodness and wellness
