On March 11,2000, Woodburn High
sponsored the middle school state wrestling
championships. Students from all over
Oregon participated.
Entering the tournament from Salem’s
Waldo Middle School were tribal member
Darren Mackaravitz and his teammates
Zane and Thomas Shadrich, Casey Barlow,
Chad Mackey, Luke Dickerson, and Erick
Wood. Mr. Noel and Mr. Stockenberg
coached them along.
Darren’s parents, Shayn and Lodynne,
would like to congratulate the team for
demonstrating their skills and performing
their best at this event. Also thanks to the
parents who were there supporting
the boys.
Congratulations, Darren, for placing
fourth in the state and receiving a bronze
medal. We are very proud of all of you
Waldo Mustangs!

tribal member who just had a beautiful baby
girl on March 19, 2000. She weighed 9
pounds, 4 ounces, and was 20 ’ inches
long. Her name is Healyah Rose Salinas.
Her proud family is me,of course; her daddy,
Leo Salinas; brother and sister, Mariah and
Christopher; gramma Pam Lane; great-
gramma Martha Lockhart; gramma Susie
Guajardo; great-gramma Maude Lane, and
lots and lots of cousins, aunts, and uncles.
