When I was 8, my oldest brother got
locked up. I really didn’t understand until I
got older. As I started growing up, I started
to follow in his footsteps. When he was
younger, he would always preach to me. I
never really paid much attention. Now that I
look back to all the times he preached to
me, I wish I had listened to him when he told
me not to start drinking or using because
when I started drinking, it took me away
from my family. The drugs and alcohol made
me lie to my mom and lose her trust in me.
Once I got to treatment, I started to learn
more about my drug and alcohol addiction,
what it does to my body, and myself. I would
liKe to thank everybody who supported and
helped me while I was in treatment.
