Dr. C. Says Goodbye
To my patients:
My last three years at the Siletz
Community Health Clinic have been
educational and productive, and I have
enjoyed my association with you.
Sometimes, though, life takes us in
directions that are unexpected and we can
only follow what seems to be the correct
path. My life has taken such a turn, and I
am sorry to say that as of March 24,2000,1
will no longer be available to offer you
medical care at the clinic.
I am leaving many valuable
relationships behind, but I am confident that
each of you will receive excellent,
compassionate care from my colleagues. I
have seldom worked with such a caring and
capable group of healers.
As always, when a physician leaves a
community before everyone expects him to
go, questions and rumors fly. It is sufficient
to say that I must grow elsewhere. As I
depart, I thank you all for what you have
taught me, for that is what I will value most
as I look back down the years.
I hope that you are gifted with good
health, a strong spirit, and the love of family.
Little else matters.
Adios
Stephen A. Christensen, MD
A day in January brought Funny Hat Day to the Siletz Elementary first-grade class.
The tobacco prevention and education coordinator talked with the class about the
dangers of commercial tobacco use, traditional uses, and the difference between the
two. The Lincoln County Tobacco Coalition donated the hats.
