A resource for tribal members living in the Portland metropolitan area,
is available through Portland State University (PSU). The Business
Outreach Program offers free computer training classes. Interested
persons should contact Jason Burt, at (503) 284-6017, for additional
information. The program provides long-term mentoring relationships
with start-up businesses, including technical assistance on specific
projects. The program is funded in part by First Interstate Bank and the
Meyer Memorial Trust Staffing is made possible by interns ofPSU, who
assist with providing services to community members of the Portland
metropolitan area.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - Time Sensitive Information:
ONABEN has scheduled classes for the Portland area. Session 1 & 2, of
You and Your Business Idea is set to begin May 5. Contact ONABEN at
1-800-854-8289, if you are interested in enrolling in this class.
The second session, Starting a Successful Business, will begin on May 19.
It is crucial that you contact ONABEN, as soon as possible, if you are
interested in taking these classes. GOOD LUCK!!
The SBIC also has a computer program to assist clients to develop a
small business plan. Still no internet service, but hope to have everything
up and running by May. It is possible to make appointments to suityour
schedule, if the hours listed do not fit with your work schedule, call and
w e will try to make other arrangements. At least 1 week prior notice is
required for adjusted appointment times.
Business Classes for the Siletz area are still tentative on a start date.
Audrey Campbell of the Portland ONABEN office plans to visit Siletz in
June when w e will offer a two-consecutive day, You and Your Business
