Chinook Winds is your one-stop entertainment
center for April and May. What a diversity of
events we have planned for you in the
upcoming months! Enter to win a fantasy
vacation or $1,000 in cash, take part in the Cinco
de Mayo festivities, enjoy a body building
coinpetition or find out new ways to spruce up
your home or garden. Here are the details:
PROM OTIONS:
"Double Grand" Giveaway
in April
Play and win at Chinook Winds in April with
double $1,000 cash drawings every Monday
through Thursday, twice each day at 2& 8pm.
You niust be present to win but each day your
odds of winning are good because only those
who have entered that day are eligible to win
(the drum will be emptied at the end of each
day).
Winner's Circle Members will receive a bonus
ticket for each day's Double Grand. Giveaway.
Plus all players can earn extra tickets dozens of
ways casino-wide.
Each person who enters the casino is eligible
for one ticket for that dayis drawing. Tickets are
good for one day only.

Betty Latham of Newport was the lucky winner
of $8,880 at Chinook Winds Casino February 18.
Betty purchased a 50-cent Native Diamond
pull tab ticket in Bingo to win the cash
A regular Bingo player at the Lincoln City
Casino, Betty exclaimed, "Chinook Winds Bingo
is fantastic, especially when I win like this!"

Get Ready for Cinco de Mayo!
Chinook Winds will be hosting a Cinco de
Mayo celebration Tuesday, May 5. Bingo will
offer a special at the 6 PM session. To add some
flavor to the festivities, a complimentary tostada
bar will be in the lobby and several isouth of the
border! specialties will be featured in the buffet.
Enjoy the music of a strolling mariachi band
performing on the gaming floor.
Come join in our fiesta honoring our
neighbors to the south!
Central Coast Home & Garden Show at
Chinook Winds Casino May 8-10
The first-ever Central Coast Home & Garden
Show Will be held at Chinook Winds Casino in
Lincoln City May 8th through the 10th. I f s the
perfect opportunity to get a jump on all those
projects you're planning for this spring and
summer. Whether i f s the inside or the outside
you're concentrating on, there will be something
of interest for you among the 85 vendors who
will have displays at this event.
Iron Man Natural Body Building and
Women's Fitness Competition May 16:
Expect to»see nearly 100 competitors at the
Iron Mart Natural Body Building and Womenis
Fitness Competition May 16. This family event
is sanctioned by the National Physique
Committee. Tickets for the prejudging (from
IO am - I pm ) are $5 at the door. Tickets for the
night performance (from 7-llPM) are $15 & $20
and can be purchased in advance by calling Ron
Smith at 503-392-3661.
This is an all-natural event, the participants
must be free of steroids!

CHINOOK WINDS EMPLOYMENT INFONMATION
For individuals interested in applying for
employment at Chinook Winds here's the scoop:
Benefits include competitive wages, a
comprehensive benefits package, 401K plan,
paid vacation, 7 days holiday premium pay,
promotion from within, free transportation
employee shuttle, wage increases based on
merit, training and development programs and a
free meal on your shift.
The Hiring Procedure goes as follows: First
the advertisements for job openings are posted
in all Tribal Area Offices, in-house bulletin
boards, and local papers (if needed). After the
applications are received, the managers/
supervisors review the applications for the
positions in their department. Human Resources
then reviews the applications that have been
selected by the managers/supervisors and
interviews are scheduled. The managers/
supervisors and Human Resources personnel
then complete the interview, applicant rating
form and telephone reference check. Finally, the
manager/supervisor and Human Resources
personnel reach an agreement on who they
believe are the most qualified applicants for the
positions.
After an individual has been offered a
position, they must go through pre-employment
drug screening. They then meet with the Siletz
Tribal Gaming Commission and an application
for a gaming license is completed and turned in.
They are then finger printed, photographed and
their application is signed in front of a notary.
There is a one-day wait for a low security
position and an 11-day waiting period for a high
security position. If the applicant's gaming
license is approved, the new employee must pay
a fee (the cost varies with the position) for the
license. You may elect to have this fee taken out
in payroll deductions or you can pay the Gaining
Commission up front. Gaming licenses must be
renewed annually, at a lower fee.
Positions open on an ongoing basis: Tine
chef, dishwasher, line cook, cook HI, dining room
server, buffet server/busser, housekeeper, valet
attendant, heavy-duty cleaner, keno writer,
arcade/childcare attendant, bingo attendant,
cage cashier.
Job openings are posted in each area office as
they become open, normally on a weekly basis.
