Saying our farewells
Hello my fellow students,
community and staff of
Clackamas Community College.
As this school year comes to
an end, I can’t help but think
about everything we have gone
through these past few years and
the hope I have for the future.
For the past two years, I have
had the opportunity to be the
editor in chief for The Clackamas
Print. It has been an honor and
such an interesting experience.
We have made it through intense
political elections, protests,
wildfires, and of course the
pandemic caused by COVID-19
among other things.
When most classes first shut
down, we thought it was only
going to be a week or two. After
18 months, some classes that
had been converted to online
were able to return to campus.
The Clackamas Print journalism
classes were some of those that
were able to be back face to
face. During this time, nursing,
automotive, and a few other
classes were allowed tp remain
in person.
When fall term came around,

it started off with us on campus
wearing masks and social
distancing. A lot of us have
also been working, taking care
of families, and maneuvering
many other obstacles all while
navigating the many different
challenges we faced while taking
classes online or in person. If
you were like me, there were
times I wondered when it would
end or if I could make it through.
Yet here we are. We made it
to spring term, without masks,
and for some, the last step before
moving on from CCC. By the
time this issue is printed, some
students will have graduated,
summer term will be about
to start, and the rest of us will
hopefully be enjoying summer
before the next school year
starts.
As this is my last printed
issue of The Clackamas Print,
before I pass on the reins to the
next Editor-In-Chief Joseph ’
Lohmolder, I want to say “Thank
you.” Thank you to my wonderful
staff, the amazing writers and
photographers, and the CCC
community that I’ve had the
opportunity to work with over
the years that have made my
time here incredible. I hope you
enjoy our stories that we are
sharing With you in this issue,
from the last play of the year to
our very accomplished wrestling
coach, Josh Rhoden, moving on
as the assistant coach at OSU.
If you will be a new student
or are returning next year, and
you like to write, take photos,
love social media, or want to
explore all these and maybe
learn something new, then you
should check out the journalism
classes needed to be a part of
The Clackamas Print.
I wish every single one of you
reading this, the very best and
say thank you for allowing me
to be your editor in chief. Go
outside, breathe and enjoy some
sunshine!
GO Cougs!
Your editor-in-chief
