So p h o m o r e Lydia Pavlenko anked No. 11 in the nation in High Jump with a distance of 1.67 meters, and No. 14 in the nation with a Triple jump of 11.83m at WAR XI. Alyssa Smith was also nationally ranked in the Pole Vault with a height of 3.45m, ranking No. 8 in the country. With all the success through the season, Clackamas had high hopes coming into the final meet and those high hopes were m et with results. Going into the second day of the NWAC Championships, the Cougars men’s team was in second place and making a push for first place, and the women’s team.was in third-place. “We went back and looked at oUr predictions [the m eet], and we ’ re up a little bit from were we thought we’d be for both the m en’s and women’s team s.” Head Coach Keoni McHone said the mornwg of the second day. The Cougars finished th e season w ith six All- with a time of 10.61. Freshman Jordan Gloden was in a photo finish race where he missed a first place American athletes on the m en’s side with Gloden, finish by .01. Finishing with a time of 15.03, Gloden Walker, Carter, Meade, Mckenzie and freshman Sam Cole all reçieving honors. The wom en’s team had finished second. The success in tunning continued for the m en’s three All-Americans with Foster, Smith and Pavlenko. Although both m en’s ànd w om en’s team s had team w ith sophomore Devin Sellers winning the stan d -o u t perform ances, b o th team s finished in 3000m Steeplechase (9:49.06.) The 4x100m relay team (sophomore Isaiah Diggs, freshm an Kwan Carter, third place. The women behind Spokane Community sophomore Katsha Booker, and Albirght) took third College (1st place) and Lane (2nd place) and the men (42.00) in tight race with Lane Community College behind Lane (1st place) and Spokane (2nd place.) Both team s exceeded project placem ents at the (41.83) and Clark College (41.93.) Freshman J.J. Walker competed in multiple events NWAC Championships and with th a t comes a lot of including the Decathlon. Walker finished in a four­ hope as well as pressure leading into the next season.
