W ith summer just around the corner, Clackatnas Community College students are catching rays and amping up
for the next three or four m onths of sun, sand and fun? Shorts, tank tops and flip-flops are being unpacked and
unearthed from the depths of closets to see their first use after seem ingly endless m onths where Oregonians
saw torrential rain, snow in February and unpredictable hail showers.
In preparation for the coming season, I have gathered not only the radio’ s top five songs right now, but some
CCC students’ favorite songs that get them in the mood to soak up the sun as well.

excited for what the day has to offer. It’ s the perfect.song for summ er because it
amps me up, and summer is all about spontaneous adventures, and that song makes
me feel invincible, and so ready to take absolutely anything on .”
“ I love She’ s Got The Honey by Mat Kearney. It’ s just a
really happy song, and it rem inds me of sunshine and
long drives.”

A m onth from summer and at the top of Billboard’ s Hot 100 Songs
list, it’ s safe to say w e ’ll all be enjoying these sohgs on our w ay to the
beach, out to the gorge or laying in our yards. W ith reports of a m id-
70’ s average for our w eekly w eather report, Oregon City w ill begin its
quick descent into the golden m onths of summer.
