Dear Professor Clackamas,
Why was I asked to pay up front when I
registered for winter term? It’s never been
that way before.

ear Freaked, that's a good question. Registering at Clackamas Community
College has always, sort of felt like walking around in circles, in the dark,
with a blindfold while getting shot at. However, having to pay at the time of
registration has never been a fear for most students.
When students started registering online for winter 2015, that seemed to
change; a message popped up saying payment was due at time of registra
tion, and many students were left staring at a screen asking, ‘What the Hell?'
According to student accounts, nothing has changed from the previous terms of registering,
they're only making it more obvious to see that the charge is being added to their accounts.
If you haven’t paid by Friday of week 2 in winter term, $30 will be added to the account bal
ance as a late payment fee.
So never fear, Freaked. They’re only trying to scare you a little.
