In ent reasons for joining this his first boot camp he trained a community. “Most of them are journalist who was investigat ing the community for Rolling Stone magazine, Neil Strauss. Strauss later set the rela tively small community on fire when he released his book, “The Game.” His book caused a large influx of men to join the seduction community in mass. Companies such as Mystery’s Mystery Method and Real Social Dynamics or simply RSD sprung into action charg ing higher fees for boot camps (currently up to $4,000). “It’s rather expensive and discourages new people from joining the community, and enforces the whole mentality that rich people get chicks,” Lienen said. Men are not the only active participants in the seduction community, quite the contrary. In fact, according to Lienen; he has met a number of women who enjoy being members of CHILE: Another earth quake devasts Continued from CHILE, Rage 1 •nerds and they need a social guideline to follow,” Lienen said. Of all of the pickup artists in the game, a term that is used to reference the act of picking up someone, Lienen says his favorite is David Deangelo, the figurehead _ of a company called Double Your Dating, “because he focuses on more than just the picking up women aspect of the game and more on developing yourself as a whole person.” Lienen preferred the com munity before all of the hype started, “before nobody had any idea what we were up to, it’s becoming a sign of our generation.” Next term: steampunk, greasers and vampires. As of Friday, March 5, 2010, there where nearly 452 identified deaths, about 500 hundred unidentified bodies, plus people who have not yet been found. The Chilean gov ernment is giving one year to find bodies, identify than and have a total count of deaths. According to TVN, one of the most important local Chilean news charnels, it will cost any where from “15 to 30 thousand million dollars to put the coun try back together depending on the magnitude of disaster.” Since many places in central and southern Chile are still unaccesible due to the catas trophe, the amount cannot be determined at this point So many children have died, olds- citizens are now living in toils after their homes collapsed and the cities destroyed... “My brother lost his daugthers, his wife, our older brother... eight people total lost their lives in his house, but we should be thank ful, because it could have been nine,” said Joahim Recaharren about his brother. To those anonymous heroes, to those who have helped in some way, to the youth of an entire country who have given up their parties, their clothes and days just to help, to those who have helped those who ay leaving their own pain and tears aside, for those who died and those who lost their loved ones ... I wrote this story for you. Associated Student Goverment in CC 152 will have a donation jar for anyone who wishes to donate money. All of the money col lected will go to help victims of the Chilean earthquake and tsunami. Cochran is a week and a half into the job as of today he has had a total of nine interviews for the job. Cochran worked as pub lic works director for the city of Fairview for 13 years. As public works direc tor he did a lot of work with the water systems and parks in Fairview. “The education arena is all new to me,” he said. So far, Cochran said he has attended a lot of meet ings and met his staff. He has 41 employees working under him. As dean of campus ser vices, he is in charge of maintenance and opera- tions, as well as building management and the print shop. “The greatest challenge I’ve heard is doing the same and more with less,” Cochran said of the cur rent budget situation. Cochran describes him self as being laid back and detail oriented. Although he is not all business, he admitted that he has perused the college catalog and seen some interesting classes he might take for self fulfill ment. He is interested in art and computer classes. Cochran and his family are also very outdoorsy and enjoy boating, water skiing and wakeboarding on the Columbia River in the summer time. -compiled by Abigail Neet
