As promised the fourth installment of the Terminator saga hit theaters on May 21st. Those who are fans of the old Terminator movies have been looking forward to this movie ever since the end of the first Terminator movie when the little Mexican boy says, “There’s a storm coming.” And Sarah Connor says, “I know...” because this movie is about that storm. And like most storms, they end with disaster. Terminator Salvation takes place several years after Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. Skynet, the missile defense system that became self aware and destroyed most of humanity, has taken over the world and is cranking out terminators to hunt down and kill the surviving humans. Amongst the chaos is the human resistance who are fighting a loosing battle to save humanity. John Connor, whom at this point is only a soldier of the resistance and a man named Marcus Wright, become John Connor’s only hope for victory.' The story does a good job of tying together everything from the older movies and stays very true to the original source material but as an J action movie it falls short. It’s supposed to be about a war between man and machine but save for a few small skirmishes, an attack from a giant terminator and a very brief jet dogfight, there are really no epic full- scale battles to be seen.
