5 may be expected,
a quirky farewell
from The Print's editorial staff
o celebrate the end of the school year, we here
at The Clackamas Print have reprinted three of
our favorite house ads. The Oregon Newspaper
Publisher’s Association defines a “house ad” as an ad for
the. house newspaper. It serves the purpose of promoting
different parts or all of the newspaper’s operation, like
selling ads, photography or calling for new writers. The
Print has chosen to ignore the second part of that defini
tion, which is probably why they never give us any “Best
House Ad” awards and always comment on the fact that
they don’t get any of our jokes, either.
Consequently, we’d like to use this space to actually
advertise ourselves in a coherent manner for once! When
you’re making your schedule for Fall term, remember
that The Print is always looking for new staff writers and
staff photographers. To join as a photographer or writer,
you can sign up for J-215: Publications Lab. To join us as
a production and layout assistant when we put the paper
together Tuesday afternoons, you can sign up for J-226:
Electronic Newspaper Production. Hope to see you in the
Fall, Clackamas!

(ABOVE) The comics for the past two
school years have been drawn by for
mer Editor-in-Chief Isaiah Creel and
last year’s photo editor, Jesse Lamond.
Some say that they make perfect sense
and are always a hoot, but they are
few and far between (and most of them
are on The Print staff). The artists
have always accepted that The End of
All Things Holy and The Gryphon are
less than conventional comics, and
therefore less than funny to most peo
ple, but they never really cared. For
the record, the creator of the Gryphon
would like to blame his job for the lack
of funny over the past few weeks.
E) Our Sports Editor Mike
[mack came up with the idea
Is house ad late one Tuesday
loon, and then-Photo Editor
laynor jumped at the chance to
he New Kids on the Block into
[per. The faces of the boy band
been replaced with various edi-
staff members, including Mike
If.
ff) Our former Editor-in-Chief
[Creel (pictured, right) was one
b monkey. We would like to say
k as was ENTIRELY HIS IDEA.
