Oregon's newest public golf course
will present a challenge—albeit an
enjoyable one—to every caliber of
golfer.
A unique aspect of Stone Creek
Golf Club is the excellent drainage.
Significant resources were expended
to ensure the driest course conditions
for year-round play. Two of the most
scenic holes are par 3. The 180-yard
#6 played over a lake from the
Jacobsen tees, and the 141 -yard
#14, which requires a drive over wet
lands and consideration of a stack of
boulders protecting the green.
One of pro Peter Jacobsen's
favorite holes is #9, a par 4, 397-
yard challenge from the back tees
with two fairways to choose from: an
elevated landing area with a clear
view of the green or a lower
approach through a narrow opening
between bunkers.
After a round of golf, patrons can
relax at the clubhouse with outdoor
seating on a large deck overlooking
the 18th green.

The Oregon City Golf Club was
J originally built in 1922 as a nine-
hole course. In 1960, the second
n’ne were added, bringing the total
yardage to 5,940. The course had
no sand traps but did contain plenty
of trees and rolling fairways.
Today, the course has been
updated with sand traps on most
holes, water on three, and the
same rolling fairways and trees that
have grown significantly larger. The
drainage is excellent which makes
it an outstanding winter course.
