Master P and Lil’ Romeo flex their skills in the follow-up to P’s 2002 release ‘Came Face.’
One of hip-hop’s finest has
returned to local record stores,
Master P’s “Good Side/Bad
Side” double CD is in the house.
This latest release from south
ern-bred New Orleans rapper
Master P will make hip-hop
heads universally listed with
delight.
Disk one opens with the hard
toned cut “Act a Fool” and fea
tures beat production from
Atlanta’s premium rapper/pro
ducer Lil’ Jon. “Act a bool” has
been released as the second sin
gle from the album. This pound
ing gangster cut is the perfect
opening to this album. Lil’ Jon
also makes an appearance on the
club hit “Them Jeans” and the
gangster cut “Who Them Boyz”
making disk one an eight out of
10 on the nod-your-hcad/brcak-
your-ncck o-metcr.
Disk one also includes guest
appearances from P’s own
brothers Silkk the Shocker and
C-Murder. Murder appears over
the phone on two tracks, as he
was recently handed a life sen
tence in prison for a 2002 night

Firefox 'rains' supreme in web browser ra

After : several years of playing
second fiddle to Microsoft’s
Internet t Explorer, Mozilla has
released its new web browser,
Firefox 0.8, and with it a legiti
mate claim to the title of “best”
browser.
Firefox (available for down
load at www.mozilla.org) is
riddled with features
that users of other
browsers
would
have to download
from third-party
developers.
The
built-in
pop-up
blocker is more
effective than that
offered by the Gc
Toolbar (the only
every Internet Explorer user
should download) and is easily
customizable to allow predeter
mined pop-ups to pass unob
structed. Speaking of Google,
users can search via the powerful
search engine from an integrated
search field placed conveniently
next to the address bar.
Firefox also utilizes- tabbed
browsing, which allows for multiple
websites to be loaded into one
browser window, eliminating desk
top and taskbar clutter. Easy-to-nay-
igate tabs help sort the pages.
With its included extras and
Mozilla’s notorious reputation of
being slow to load, the most
pleasant surprise is the
speed
at
which
Firefox
opens.
Mozilla browsers
have deterred many
prospective users in
the past with their
loathsome
load
times; this trend is
over. Firefox is notice
ably quicker than not only
its predecessor but also its
Microsoft counterpart.
Ironically, Firefox’s strongest
trait is its room for improvement.
It’s open-source, which means it’s
free to the public and so is its
source code. Any programmer
is allowed, and for that matter
encouraged, to contribute to
the development and better
ment of the browser. Because
of its open-source policy, many
developers, create add-ons or
“extensions” to help enhance
its- functionality. Ones of the
most notable extensions is one
called “Adblock.” Adblock
allows, via right-clicking, to
remove ads from webpages by
removing and blocking images,
flash documents and even
entire ib’ramcs from being dis
played, all but eliminating
annoying banner ads.
Firefox is available for
Windows, Linux and MacOS X,
which means there’s no excuse
for anyone with a computer and
the Internet to not give it a try.
Its meager file size (6MB com
pared to roughly 20MB for
Internet Explorer 6) and many
features make for a guilt-free
indulgence any web user can
appreciate.
