Editor knows what's
up with major sports

I’m a sports genius.
There, I said it. Like every man
on this planet when it comes to
sports, I know that I am right and
you are wrong. Being that this' is
the first in a series of columns, I
thought I might hit you with my
brief opinions on some of the
major issues in the sports world
today.
Let’s start off with Kobe
Bryant. Kobe, Kobe, Kobe! You
had the world, dawg, and now the
world knows you like white girls.
If he is guilty of violating this girl,
I say lock him up and stick him in
a cell with Mike Tyson. I just hope
Kobe didn’t do it, even if he is a
stinking Laker.
Staying positive with all of this,
it’s time to move on to Pete Rose.
You’re a liar, homie, and a lot of
people are not going to be able to
forgive you. Nonetheless, Rose
should be let back into baseball.
His numbers merit an induction in
the Baseball Hall of Fame and it
would be a good boost for a game
that has recently lost its appeal.
On the other hand, I don’t
think that Rose should ever man
age again. There should be a
shrine in Cooperstown that com
memorates Rose and everything
he has done for baseball, even the
negative things.
Now let us shift to an issue
that is close to home: my beloved
Pordand Trail Blazers. I love the
Blazers and I have no beef with
this team. It’s time for the city of
Portland to start hollering at this
team in a positive way. Then the
players might parlay some of this
talent into a few W’s.
It’s time for the city to support
this team, even if some of the
players don’t act right.
It doesn’t matter if the Blazers
smoke that “act right,” as long as
they play right. I could go on for
ever when it comes to the Blazers,
but everyone should know this
right now: don’t talk smack about
the Blazers in front of this sports
editor or you will get a mean mug
followed by a cold stare.
Last but not least, I want to
make a Super Bowl prediction. I
say the Seahawks will win the
Super Bowl next season. Oh
yeah, and the Panthers’ defense
will bone-crush the Patriots in
Super Bowl XXXVIII, 28-14.
This column will appear bi
weekly, as I will alternate columns
with my homeboy, sports copy edi
tor and fellow sports genius Frank
Jordan. If you have any questions,
comments or beefs with this or any
of my columns, write a letter to the
sports editor or e-mail me at
sportsed@clackamas.edu. I will
holler back at y’all in two weeks.
Gone.
