Molly Stanley, a freshman from
Portland Christian High School,
was elected to the office of
Associated Student Government
President by a landslide vote,
defeating Jason Gibson and a
write-in candidate, Brian Everest.
Stanley received a total of 136
votes out of 199 total votes cast in
the election held last week.
Gibson, who ran an unorthodox
campaign to try to reform the stu
dent government office, was a
distant second with 33 votes.
¡Everest, who began a campaign
on Tuesday of last week, was
third with 24 votes.
Erika Egger, a freshman who
graduated from North Clackamas
Christian High School in Oregon
City, was elected by a large mar
gin to the office Lof ASG Vice-
President. Egger, a business
ri
major, defeated Stephanie
Neuhauser by a margin of 128-
66.
Gibson, contesting the election,
had filed a grievance with the
ASG office. A special election
committee had been formed by
the ASG leadership to look at
any proposed allegations that the
letter submitted by Gibson had
implied.
According to comments made
byASG President Stefan Myers,
the election subcommittee met in
session on Tuesday, May 21 and
decided that the allegations made
did not violate any ASG consti
tutional bylaws and that the elec
tion would be declared official as
of May 21.
A complete wrapup of the elec
tion, along with interviews with
the winners and reaction from
the losers, will be in next week’s
edition of The Print.
