To let people have fun while they , walk upstairs was one of the
ideas behind creating the hands, feet and faces of the Barlow stair
well. About three years ago, Rick True, art department chair, de
cided to showcase some talent from his sculpture class.
According to True, individuals have vandalized the art work on
the walls in the past and therefore it required repeated maintenance.
"It's an ongoing battle. A lot of the art work got ripped off and
we had to go and fix it," said True.
You can see the art department's creativity all over campus. Barlow
stairwell is just one of the places to look. If you want to discover
more creative art work, just walk through the hallways and take a
glance at the walls.
