visitors at Clackamas during environmental week. He is in
the process of being trained to live in the wild so he can
be released back to his natural habitat.

Stefan Myers was elected
ASG President for the upcom
ing school year bringing new
ideas and enthusiasm to our
campus.
Myers, a Canby High School
graduate, came to Clackamas
last Fall term where he got in
volved with Student Govern
ment for the first time.
“In high school, I got in
volved with a lot of leadership
activities and I enjoyed it a lot.
I wanted to lie involved with
ASG but I just wasn’t ready for
it,” Myers explained. “At
Clackamas I got involved in
ASG and I loved it. I just like
getting involved with any club
or association that puts a smile
on someone’s face or helps
them out.”
During the past year, Myers
was very successful putting
together an indoor soccer club
and he has set goals for his up
coming job as ASG president.
He wants to offer support to all
the different leaders on cam
pus, get more people involved
with Student Government and
provide more activities and op
portunities for students.
“One of my goals is to keep
the students in the classroom
by providing more opportuni
ties for them like child care
grants. We don’t want any
body who wants an education
not to get one,” said Myers.
According to Myers, keep
ing students informed and let
ting them know what is hap
pening around campus as well
as getting them involved is the
key to success.
“The more people are involved
in this campus the better it’s go
ing to be,” said Myers. “A lot of
students don’t know what’s go-
ing on and they don’t know how
to get involved. There are differ
ent levels of involvement, and if
you find what you like, it can be a
lot of fun.”
Myers likes to get people ex
cited about things and enjoys be
ing around individuals with differ
ent background^ and wel
comes everybody to
join ASG.
“I love people
that are totally
different and
have a' differ
ent
view
thaii
you
because
then you
have
so
much more
to gain from
that,” said
Myers. “I just like
jumping into that
melting pot of stu
dents. If you are
meeting the same
people over and
over again, then
you are not grow
ing as a person.”
A f t e r
Clackamas, Myers,
who is consider
ing a degree in
public relations, is
planning on transferring to a
four-year school and continu
ing involvement in Student
Government.
“When going to a different
school, I definitely want to fur
ther my work with Student Gov-
emment and see how successful
can be,” he said. "I
just really want to
encourage stu
dents to get in
volved with any
kind of activity
and see how
much fun it can
be.”
