The Clackamas baseball team
toppled down in the league
standings after playing Mt.
Hood and Lane last week.
The Cougars stepped into
the game with Mt. Hood in first
place. By the end of the games
at Lane, the team plummeted to
the middle of the league stand
ings and are now 4-5.

Unfortunately, the second
game didn't allow the Cougars
to hold onto their second place
standing. The Cougars moved
back down to the middle of the
pack with a 4-3 record.
“The second game was a
heartbreaker, we ended up get
ting beat 4-3. Schofield ended
up picking up that loss, but
pitched very well in the game,”
explained Head Coach Robin
Robinson.
The Cougars moved on to
play Lane, who were 5-2 going
in to the game; but after pick
ing up a win against
Robinson’s team, Lane moved
up in standings with a 10-6 win.
Clackamas left a total of 14
players on base during the
game.
“We left 14 guys on base
which is a huge offensive fail
ure," noted Robinson. "When
the games are close and you
are leaving that many guys on
base it means guys are not get

Currently, Lane sits atop the
league standings with a 7-2
record. Linn-Benton is in sec
ond at 5-2 and Mt. Hood is one
game behind the Roadrunners,
in third place with a 4-3 record.
Clackamas takes on George
Fox University tomorrow in
Newberg at 4 p.m.
League action resumes for the
Cougars on Saturday against
fifth-place Chemeketa [5-2].
After taking on Linn-Benton
in Albany next Tuesday, the
squad returns home for a
doubleheader against Mt.
Hood on April 29.
The Cougars must make up
two placings in the league
standings to qualify for
postseason play.
