versity of Texas.
“Hey, I Just Cracked My Knuck
les” is the title of Flores’ show,
which is running Jan. 13 through
Feb. 17. Flores will deliver a free
lecture in Gregory Forum on Thurs

older works as well as his new ex
hibit, as well as his feelings on
where he is headed artistically. The
show in Pauling features Flores’
interpretations of religious icons
stemming from his Catholic back
ground.
Flores grew up near the Mexi
can border in El Paso and he re
ceived his Masters of Fine Arts in
printmaking from the University of
Iowa. He returned to El Paso where
he now teaches and is the director
of the art galleries at the Univer
sity. He maintains a low-key ap
proach to his art and exhibits.
“I don’t try to change people’s
minds with my work,” said Flores.
