York honored as Cougar player of the week

Second-year volleyball veteran
Kimber York has been recognized
as the team's Player of the Week
for Oct. 11 -15 for her leadership and
setting skills on the volleyball
court.
The player of the week is de
cided upon by Head Coach Kathie
Woods and Assistant Coach
Casie Ireland. They take into con
sideration skills, attitude, and over
all game to determine who they will
recognize for the team player of thé
week.
York is a 1998 graduate from
Bend, Oregon.
She has been playing volleyball
for about eight years.
"I always liked volleyball," said
York.
"I love setting,"added York.
Practice begins at 1 p.m. York
attends practice everyday and
hasn't missed one yet.
"Kimber is a tremendous leader,"
said Kathie Woods, head coach.
"She has more pressure to perform
as a co-captain, but she is able to
maintain the consistency of emo
tions among the team," added
Woods.
"The team responds to her
[Kimber York] and looks up to her
for leadership," said Woods.
York is currently majoring in Vet
erinarian Medicine.
She is currently looking at dif
ferent colleges and universities
that offer>volleyball for her future
school plans. This is York's last
year at Clackamas. She hopes to
move on to a four-year college to
get her degree in Veterinarian Medi
cine.

made,"said York.
