astic, dedicated volunteers to work
as outréach assistants, artists,
naturalists, nursery assistants, or
grounds crew. Environmental
educators are also wanted to work
with fourth through sixth grade
students with a comprehensive
training program provided start

Simplify your Life

do, a class held Jan. 12 and 19
from 7-9 p.m. will you on your
way to a healthier everyday life.

“Worm in the Hand”
An after-school activity will be
held to teach children how to com
post leftover food using worms on
Jan. 27 from 4-6 p.m. at the ELC.
The class is suitable for children
ages 6-11 when accompanied by
an adult. Pre-registration is re
quired, and the class costs $5 plus

Clackamas County s Healthy
Start” seeking Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to visit
and assist new parents and their
newborns at local hospitals to help
them get off to a healthy start. A
minimum of one hour is required
per week on weekdays or week
end mornings, and training will
be offered this month. Contact

Calling all Artists
The 1999 Salem Art Fair and
Festival is seeking 200 fine artists
and craftpersons to have their
work be displayed on the 50th an
niversary of the event. Partici
pants will present a wide range of
art forms including ceramics,
painting, drawing, sculpture,
glass, and woodworking. Artist
applications are currently being
offered, and a $10 non-refundable
fee must accompany each submis

Silent Witness Exhibit at CCC
An exhibit exploring the effects
of domestic violence on Oregon
women will be held in the Com
munity Center during the week of
Jan. 11-15. A panel discussion
will also be held in the Fireside
Lounge on Thursday, Jan 14.

Teacher Training Workshop
A free workshop on field study

27 on how to study the outdoors
with students and meet the CIM
requirements as well. Strategies
to help guide student work and
student involvement in hands-on
