Hats off to Plant
Services personnel

only are they moving whole
departments

other
buildings, but also helping
with the general clean-up.
Èach day I pass one of the
Plant Services workers, I’m
greeted with a smile and a
“hello.”
Thus, I’m reminded the real
movers and shakers are
usually the ones behind the
scenes.
Today, I would like to tip
my hat to the Plant Services
personnel for their continued
“grace under fire.”
The editorial column is
written to express the
opinion of the editorial staff
on various subjects affecting
the college community.
Today’s column is not
really any different. The
exception is, instead of an
opinion, I would like to
express an appreciation for
those who work in Plant
Services.

scheduled for March
Is college life stressing
you out? Do you have signs
of an anxiety disorder:
anxiety attacks, social
anxiety, sleep disturbance,
difficulty concentrating,
easily
fatigued
or
restlessness?
If you, or
someone you know, suffers
from any of these symptoms
of anxiety, free help is
available. You are invited to
attend a College Anxiety
Disorders Screening Day
where you can view a video,
take an anxiety disorders
screening test and have a
confidential meeting with a
doctor or mental health
professional. Free educational
material will also be available.
The event is planned for
Thursday, March 13 at 4 p.m.
to 6 p.m. in CC127 and is
sponsored by Phi Theta
Kappa and the college’s
Counseling Dept.

The Awards Reception for
the winning entries will be held

Women to share
poetry, music in
special celebration
Poetry and music by
women artists will highlight a
celebration luncheon on
Wednesday, March 5, in honor
of Women’s History Week.
The event is sponsored by
the college’s AAWCC Focus
on Women Program, and will
be held at noon in the Gregory
Forum. Cost is $5, which
includes lunch; pre-registration
is encouraged.
Several members of
“Chrysalis,” a women’s writing
group, will read from their
original works. Original music
will be performed by Kathleen
Fallon. Fallon is a member of
the group “Motherlode”; they
have recorded four albums, and
perform regularly throughout
the Northwest.

Writers’ Club Contest

Club
Contest
deadline
is
Thursday, Feb. 20/ You may
submit up to three poems, one
essay and one piece of fiction.
Submit four copies of each
entry. Include a .cover page
for each copy. On each entry
include the title and your
social security number. The
cover page for each entry
should include the title, the
category, your name, your
social security number, your
address and your phond
number. All entries will be
considered for the literary
magazine, Synesthesia.
Seasoned adults to
attend Cabaret matinee

Seasoned Adult Enrichment
Program at the 2:30 p.m.,
Sunday, Feb. 23 matinee
production of Cabaret in the
McLoughlin Theatre located on
the main campus. Doors open
at 2 p.m., with an ice cream
social following. No morning
session is scheduled. For more
