The play was quite good for
such a complicated plot. It was
complicated because the tribes
people are trying to get rid of Lan
who is “simple” minded due to a
message from a dead man.
“To the Tribe of Lowri speaks
Mother Don. The moon has
looked down on the tribe and one
of them is damned. And all the
tribe shall be damned with him
unless...”
So throughout the play the
clan members (except for
Annwen- Lan’s sister) try to get
rid of Lan (also nicknamed
Simple) so that they may enter
Avalon. They -live with thé
delusion that “hearts desire is
heaven on earth, Avalon.”
What they don’t realize is that
Keldin (Simple’s twin brother)
the holy man is actually the
damned one. Becauseof Simple’s
lark that comes back to life the
clan feels that Mother Don has
given them a sign telling them
that they’re saved.
From then on the tribes people
look at Simple as their savior.
Now that they are saved, they
start to head out to Avalon, but
Simple, who doesn’t want to be a
savior, stays behind with his sister
Annwen who say’s, “Yes, you
and me may be the lucky ones
after ail.”
The play was well-acted; all
the actors and actresses did a fine
job.
An especially good
performance was given by
outraged daughter Annwen
(Camberely Torres), when she
defends her brother to the clan.
