Page 2 THE CLACKAMAS FEATURE PRINT January 30,1991 Director Corwin is up to something fishy His one act comedy 'Trout" is under construction by Heidi A Hoffman Feature Editor “They are friends for that brief moment on the river,” said Den nis Corwin explaining the setting of the one act play that is now under his direction. “Trout” is the name of the one act play that will be performed in the campus theatre on March 5 at 12:30 p.m. and March 6 at 12 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. “They basically talk. Il’s a comedy, but they look at life very humorously. There are some deep themes about why they are and what they are,” said Corwin. “Through the process of humor they are basically conveying real problems and matters of every day life to the audience.” “The actor’s personalities bring contrast with the characters and brings more into the show,” commented Corwin. There are three one acts being put together this term. Each qf the student directors is starring in another one of the plays. “It’s a give and take,” explained Corwin. “When I’m the director they respect me for that and vice versa.” ’“Trout’ is a very funny yet realistic portrayal of people and people should be able to identify with at least some aspect of it. For that reason there’s something in it for everyone,” said Corwin. David Burnett, who plays Bert, likes playing this character. “It’s nice to be playing some one like Bert because he’s not like anyone I’ve ever played before,” explained Burnett. Both Burnett and Corwin are also in the end of the term pro duction of “The Colleen Bawn”. “It’s amazing how priority of theatre has overshadowed every thing else,” said Corwin. “But each show is different and unique. It’s a lot of fun.” Burnett and Corwin were co directors of a one acts last term and they still really enjoy working together. “I like having Dennis as a director,” said Burnett “ Let’s just say he knows fish. " / like having Dennis as a director beacuase... let's just say ...he knows fish." -David Burnett There are two characters in the play. David Burnett plays Bert and Adam Jarvey plays Charlie.
