Intramurals on campus are here once again

The intramural program here
at Clackamas is just starting to
get underway for another school
year. According to Kathie Woods,
intramural program director and
head volleyball coach at the col
lege, flag football and racquetball
are the team activities offered
during fall term.
Flag football started their sea
son on Oct. 18. There are six
teams that have signed up for the
season. According to Woods, how
ever, anyone who can get a team
together before the end of round
one of the round-robin competi
tion can compete this season. The
games are played on Tuesdays and
Thursdays, from 1230 p.m. to 130
p.m. on the playing fields near the
track.
Complete details and sched
ules are available on the bulletin
board near the weight room in
Randall Hall.
Racquetball is also offered this
term. Games are played at Eastside
Athletic Club. People interested
in playing must be signed up in a
racquetball class to play at Eastside.
“We have had one tourna
ment so far, and we have three
more tournaments planned dur
ing fall term,” Woods said. “Jim
Sabo was the winner of our first
tournament.”
Another intramural event
coming up soon is the Turkey Trot,
which is a 3.1 mile race to be held
on Wednesday, Nov. 21, at noon.
Turkeys will be given to the top
male and female finishers (as long
as there are eight runners in each
category). There will also "be ran
dom drawings for other prizes as
well A 24 mile walk is also planned
for the same day.
Also, a two and a four mile
fun run will be held on Thursday,
NOv. 15, startingat 12:05 p.m. The
meeting place for these events will
be the loading zone, off from the
lower level of Randall Hall.
Aargh! The Football men destroy each other with gusto. Intramural football sure looks fun!
