was the first place winner in the
Journalism News Writing portion
of the 12th Annual Skills Compe
tition.
Brains clashed as over 1700
students from high schools around
Clackamas County faced their
competitors with minds sharpened
and polished for the Clackamas
County Skills Competition. The
event was held at Clackamas
Community College (CCC) on
February 22.
Twelve years ago, the seed
was planted, and the competition
has been growing in number of
participants ever since.
According to Corky Kirkpa
trick, Grant Writer from the col
lege, “I think it’s an excellent
experience for students to have
this opportunity.”
