Bixler, who is majoring in hydraulics, has
spent a total of six terms in the ASG
Senate and is a member of the Board of
Directors for the CCC Foundation.
Bixler said that the ASG constitution is
in need of major revision.
"Right now there are enough loopholes
in the constitution to please Roy Rogers,
Gene Autrey or anyone else who likes to do
rope tricks," said Bixler.
Griffin is serving his second term as ASG
senator, and has worked on the ASG Con
stitution Revision Committee and has been
active in the NORML club on campus.
"I don't think that students know they
can participate in student government," said
Griffin.
"The qualifications for this job come
from ambition, concern and a knowledge of
parliamentary procedures," said
Griffin.
"Leadership is a big part of holding office
and I think I have the interest to take that
leadership."
Debbie Schwab and Lynn Toland are
running for the position of student govern
ment secretary.
Schwab is in the middle of her third
term in the student senate and is running
for the office of secretary for the second
time.
"I wish to make ASG better," said
Schwab. "Everybody is complaining about
how wishy-washy we are - and I promise to
do the best possible job I can do to make

"This past year I've learned a lot and
1 loved every minute of it," she continued.
"As secretary I expect to learn twice as
much as I did this year."
Toland is currently serving as ASG secre
tary as a replacement for Debbie Sipe who
resigned at the end of winter term.
"I'd like to see more students involved
in student government and involve sports
more," said Toland. "My goal is to see more
athletics involved in student government.
They have legitimate complaints that nobody
ever hears."
"ASG doesn't need followers," she con
tinued. "We need people to voice their
opinions."
Maureen Kearney is the lone candidate
for the position of business manager. She
has served in the senate all year and was
last year's recipient of the ASG Leadership
Scholarship which is given each year to a
Clackamas County high school student jud
ged most deserving by ASG.
"I'd like to see less student apathy, more
participation and have more people voice
their opinions and ideas," said Kearney.
"Since I have already been involved in ASG,
running for Dusiness manager would further
my involvement in ASG."
Students at CCC will have an opportunity
to ask questions of these candidates at the
elections forum scheduled for Monday, May
2 in the Community Center building.
