    double over Crusade
The
Clackamas Community College's
baseball team put in one of the best per
formances of their season last week as they
won four big games to maintain their hold
on the all important second place in the
Oregon Community College Athletic Associ
ation standings.
The big week began last Tuesday in one
of the most crucial doubleheaders of the
year as they hosted their closest rival for the
second spot, Linn-Benton Community Col
lege.
The Cougars then proceeded to take a
big step towards the regional tournament
as they easily won the twin-bill, 5-3, and
14-5.
In the victories, Rick Jones' two-run
single and Tim Wach's solo home run backed
Bob Tollefsen's six-hit pitching in the open
ing game.
The Cougars' next league encoum
a doubleheader against Judson Baj
Saturday, they had to win in orders
pace with league leader, Lane,
sweeping a double header from Blue
tain Community College.
In the second game, an 11-run fifth
inning carried Clackamas to the lopsided
victory.
The Cougars benefited from the seven
walks issued during the inning and produced
timely two-run singles by Wach, Mickey
Wilson and John Kline to break open the
contest.
However, there was little doubi
start to finish as the Cougars easily
the twin-bill, 14-4 and 12-7.
In the opener, seven runs inthe|
of the sixth inning gave Bob Tolle!
the support he needed as the Cougarr
open a close game.
Gary Lusby, (two hits, two RBl|
Dyer, (two hits, two RBI's), Tom!
(two hits, two RBI's) and Mickeyl
(two hits, one RBI), led the wayi
Cougars pounded Judson Baptist pi
for 12 hits.
Tollefsen went the distance topi
his fifth victory without a loss while
up only three hits.
In the nightcap, Tim Mills' home
Steve Gustovich's two triples, inert
with the bases loaded, keyed the!
victory.
As the season nears the halfway
the Cougars are in good shape.
The four wins this week leaves
only a half a game behind league)
Lane with sixteen games left in
play.
Since only the top two teamsp
for the Regional tournament the0
look to be in good shape to be oned

double-header against Chemeketa at home.
Tennis teams reap more wins
The No. one tennis players from both
the men's and women's squad are still
carrying almost flawless records this year
as the teams near their halfway point in
league play.
Continuing her winning streak, womens
tennis player Kim Fleming is still undefeated
in this year's competition and has tallied
six wins.
Despite Fleming's winning record and
other wins carded in singles and doubles
play last week, the CCC women's squad
dropped all three of their matches.

for rest before their next match in Bend on
Saturday. They lost to the COCC squad 2-7.

singles, Maynard, 6-4 and 6-3, and in dou
bles the winning team was Johnston and

included the doubles combination of Flem
ing and Budnick. They won their match
against Central Oregon Community College
in two sets 6-1 and 6-1.

with his win against Dave Nelson of the
COCC squad. Maynard is now 6-1 for the

back from losing her first set against Lin
field 3-6, to win the next two sets 6-4 and
4-6.
On Friday, the CCC men's tennis team
shut-out Warner-Pacific 7-0.

team is finally beginning to jell and everyone
on the team is becoming acquainted with
each others' style of play.
The men's team will play against Linn-
