Girls need leaders
Volunteers
are needed in Clackamas
County as Camp Fire Girl youth-group lead
ers.
Youth-group leaders spend a couple of
hours each week helping children work on
outdoor, craft, community action and edu
cational projects. They can also start theatre
or dance groups, help girls plan innovative
activities, learn skills and get in touch with
themselves.
Basic training is provided for interested
students 18 or over. Volunteers are also
needed in public relations, fund-raising and
program development capacities.

Coordinator named
One of the newest faces in Canby is the
new community school coordinator, John
Falkenstein.
Falkenstein thinks he has one of the most
exciting and far reaching jobs in the area,
helping people accomplish what they want
to happen in the Canby area.
Presently he needs people to get involved
and is meeting with service clubs, setting up
neighborhood coffees, and making contacts
with organizations.
Interested people should call him at the
high school 266-5811 Tuesdays and Wednes
days all day, and Thursday mornings.
Focus on women
“Assertiveness Training for Women" is
the topic of the next segment of the Focus
on Women series.
This segment will consist of an orienta
tion session which will be followed by two
evenings devoted to small group discussion
and the practice of assertive behavior.
The orientation session will be held Thurs
day, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. in room 117 of the
Community Center building and is required
for those planning to participate in the
small groups.
The small groups will meet on Dec. 7
and 9 at 7 p.m. in CC-117.
All sessions are free.

The plants will be on display and avail
able for sale to interested students. Slide
lectures, clinics and demonstrations are also
planned. Money raised by this function will
go towards buying garden units for hospitals,
nursing homes, institutions and juvenile
homes.
Soviet view at PSU
Thursday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m.. Professor
Nikolai N. Bolkhovitinov will give a public
address at 75 Lincoln Hall, Portland State
campus on "A Soviet View of the American
Revolution."
Bolkhovitinov is the first Soviet historian
ever to teach at an American university. He
will be on the PSU campus during fall
quarter, 1976.

'Eating for two?’
"Eating For Two?" a program designed
to teach expectant mothers good nutrition
for themselves and their babies, will be held
Wednesday, Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. to noon
in room 101 of the Community Center
building.
The workshop will include a question
and answer period and informal discussion
on the topic. There is no charge for admis
sion.

The Clackamas Community College Jazz
Ensemble and Swing Choir concert will be
