The college bowl games start in a couple of weeks and last until January. The NFL playoff will soon be upon us, and then of course in January comes the big one, the Super Bowl to end the football season. The only problem with foot­ ball season is not the number of . games or the length of the season. The problem that I think should be dealt with by us first is. the lack of a football program at Clackamas Com­ munity College. The last season Clackamas fielded a football team was in 1978 under head coach Bill Hargadine. Athletic director Dale McGriff held the head coaching reins from 1974 through 1977, and posted a 6-3-1 record in 1976, and a 14-14-1 record is his three year tenure a coach for the Cougars. The Cougars played in a in­ dependent league, so they were not able to go to the playoffs, but they did finish second in the league. The Cougars played their home games where the soc­ cer field is now, on Saturday afternoon, and received surpris­ ingly good support, drawing over 750 people a gaiTA\ Mt. Hood an£o
