Sports Volleyball teamhonored By Julie Miller Sports Editor The fourth annual Volleyball Banquet was held December 5 in the college’s small dining room. According to Volleyball Head Coach Kathie Woods the banquet was for team members, their parents, friends, and supporters of the team. She added that around 35 to 40 people attended th'e dinner put on by the school. During the course of the evening, awards were given to the players for outstanding achievement. Some of the honors included league awards. Jenny Holzemer was named 2nd Team All-League and Carrie Coe and Cathie Collins received Honorable Mention. There were then the five team awards. Jenny Hölzerner was named Most Valuable Player, Kim Cody was award ed Most Improved and she was also the recipient for the Coaches award, an award Coach Woods said she receiv ed because of her dedication to the sport of Volleyball, her constantly striving for perfec tion, and her dependability. Carrie Coe received the Team Captain Award, and for the second year in a row Cathie Collins was named Most In spirational. The team ended their season with 27 wins and 16 losses overall, and a 6 and 6 league record. The team lost a critical playoff game to Chemeketa, who went on to place third in the Regional Tournament.
