1 Cagers travel to Hawaii for season opener By Julie Miller Of The Print The men’s basketball team has had three scrimages against four-year schools so far this year: Columbia Chris tian, George Fox and Concor dia Lutheran College. Coach Royee Kiser has mix ed feelings about the scrimages. In the George Fox scrimage, for example, Clackamas came out and dominated the floor but seem ed to lose it in the second half. “They (George Fox) have a few returning players that are very experienced and ex perience is one of the factors in winning a basketball game,” Kiser said. But overall, Kiser said “Clackamas is progressing very well. “Wc have a very strong defense, especially in the guard position and we have the capabilities to play ex tremely well and we have, but there are still those sections that we need to work on, like rebounding. You have to be there to get that rebound if you want to win,” he explain ed. play Hawaii Pacific, a tough team, but Coach Kiser is op timistic about the game. All preparations for the up coming trip are in order. Members of the basketball team worked to raise money for the trip. The team is pay ing $200 apiece, while the rest of the money was earned through tournaments and shoot-a-thons. “The guys were real good about working for the money. It is going to be a good trip,” Kiser said. When the team returns from Hawaii, they will play North Idaho, there, in December. The game had been originally scheduled for Nov. 23. The team starts off their season in Hawaii Nov. 6. They WE CAN’T RUN ON EMPTY. * GIVE BLOOD ' ft ■If American Red Cross Classified FOR SALE ‘75 FORD PINTO Squire Wagon.
