How about a nice homemade bowl of soup- Ministrone with fresh vegetables, spices and big noodles? Maybe even a roast beef sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes and a special sauce, all served on a freshly baked french roll. If that sounds good, then I know just the place, Harry’s Mustache Restaurant and Pub at two locations in Oregon City. One at 19195 Molalla Ave., the other at 622 Main St. downtown. Harry’s is an all-in-the- family business. Brothers Rick and Rod Harris have owned and operated ‘Harry’s’ since they opened in 1977. Along with operating Harry’s Mustache, the Harrises operate a catering service, Equis Pro ductions (a recording studio) and a soup business, where they sell bases for soup, made from Rod’s own recipes, to SINGLES DEBBIE HINES takes a breather behind her skits before returning home. Rick’s wife, Debbie, manages the downtown shop, and Susi, Debbie’s sister, oversees the catering sevice and helps serve the many customers that eat at Harry’s each day. The decor in Harry’s downtown Oregon City shop is done is rustic down-home style with stained glass, pictures from years gone by, old fashioned tables, and a few plants. You’ll be able to eat at the downtown Harry’s from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., and the Molalla Harry’s is open for dinners that range from grilled hamburgers to a variety of seafood meals. Harry’s sandwiches are definitely not for the slightly- hungry eater. Take for exam ple the “HMS Turkey” sand- wich served on sourdough bread with an abundance of turkey, fresh avocados and alfalfa sprouts. This sandwich is nearly the size of the plate it’s served on. Yet the “HMS Turkey” sandwich is only part of the wide variety of food on their lunch menu. There is over 42 items to choose from in cluding sandwiches, soups and salads. Harry’s Mustache is a great restaurant. On a scale of 1-10, Harry’s gets a 9 for their food, service and atmosphere. If you’re planning on a Big Mac for lunch next time, skip it and go to Harry’s Mustache Restaurant and Pub. You can even get orders to go!
