THE BARCLAY HOUSE, (above) completed in 1850 was the home of
Oregon City’s first Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Forbes Barclay. It is
now the home of the Oregon City Chamber of Commerce«

THE AINSWORTH HOUSE, (above) was built facing away from the
road because at the time Captain Ainsworth felt that Oregon City was
going to open up in that direction. The house is of Greek Revival and
looks very much like a plantation house.
ROSE FARM, (right) the home of the Holmes sports a full ballroom on
the entire second floor of the house. Governor Lane, Oregon’s first Pro-
vincal Governor, gave his inaugural address from the second floor
balcony.
