In her interviews with more

most women know how impor

Speaking at the college
during a Focus on Women
seminar on mother-daughter
relationships, Friday told the
all-female audience, “writing
this book has changed my life.”
The introspection that ac
companied her writing opened
the author’s eyes about her
relationship with her own
mother. “I’d masked my anger
at my mother until I wrote this

the best cuts on the album. The
song was first made popular

reworked the song into a

group’s first major hit single.
“High Rollers,” “Surrender”

Before women can become
whole people, they need to
separate from their early
childhood bonds to their
mothers,
Friday
said.
“Separation is a lifelong work,
but it is worth it,” she said.
“There cannot truly be love
without separatiop.”
The College will offer a
