FRANKLY SPEAKING
Folies Bergère
Congratulations are in order to the administrators
for their inspired performance at last Friday's
Administrative Follies. We feel that the acts, al
though obviously lacking polish, illustrated thedepth
of the commitment these administrators have made
to pass the three-year serial levy.
It is apparent that the courage necessary for
these typically straight-laced, proper men and wo
men to get up in front of the entire population
of this campus and make complete and utter fools
of themselves comes from a deep-seated conviction
that they are battling on the side of all that is good
and just.
We only have one suggestion. The show was so
good and so entertaining that we feel it should go
on tour. It would give the entire community a
look at the leaders of this institution and make
them aware of the lengths to which they are
willing to go in order to pass a budget election.
If nothing else, maybe they'll vote yes just to
get rid of them.

Registration process
considered necessary
Well, here we are again at
that time of year-spring. This is
the season that all hearts turn to
thoughts of love-or registration?
Yes, it is time once again for all
of us to temporarily put aside
our pen-knives for carving our
initials in the "lovers tree", to
that of a writing peri for filling
out registration, scheduling and
various other forms.
By Dave Brandel
For The Print
Registration is quite different
in college than that of high
school.
When I was in high
school, we used to have a name
for our registration area--"arena
scheduling". This just about fit
pretty well too, as you almost
felt like you were back in thè
times of the Roman Empire
when the Emperor would throw
people to the lions.
However, things are some
times not all that different here
at CCC, as opposed to high
school, as it sometimes may ap
pear to someone who is just
going through it for the first
time.
There is the normal a-
mount of mass confusion with
people running around like a
chicken with its head cut off.
They are trying to get counse
lors signatures, looking for some
easy class, like Basket Weaving I,
Page 4
to fill out their schedules, keep
ing track of the class closures or
trying to find out why they are
registered for girls P.E. instead
of boys P.E., or vica versa.
The students here seem to
take it all in stride and chalk it
up as just part of the "learning
process".
"I think it's good,"
Rita
Mumm said. "The way it's set
up there's not so much hassle.
There is not a whole lot of
crowding."
"I have never really had any
problem because I have never
pre-registered. It is a lot smoo
ther than PCC," Arlen Phillips
said.
"I don't think it's all that
bad, really. I would like a lot
more business classes offered. I
wish they would quit changing
their textbooks around. Other
than that, the registration is OK.
If you get in there early enough,
you shouldn't have any pro
blems." Ted Moulton said.
"I think it has room for im
provement," Linda Branscomb
said. "One thing that might help
is if the returning students could
register by-mail and not have to
go through registration.
The
people who work in registration
do everything they can to help
So, as you are going about the
routine of trying to get your
schedule fixed in such a way that
you will have plenty of time to
"sit under that old apple tree"
with your sweetheart this spring,
just remember that you won't
have to have another nervous
breakdown until it is time to
register for next term.

Heartfelt thanks
To the Editor:
On behalf of the Board of '
Directors I want to extend my
appreciation for the support
you have given to help us to
carry on our mission of re
ducing premature death and
disability due to heart disease.
Contributions to the Heart
Association7go toward devel
oping and maintaining heart
health research, education and
community service programs
throughout Oregon.
We appreciate your sending
a copy of the Print, I can see
why this project was such a
hit on campus. Aside from
raising funds, Heart Month
is a time when as many people
as possible should hear about
our purpose. It. is exciting for
us when young people become
aware of the need to conquer
heart disease—because preven
tion begins early in life with
the adoption of a life style
that reduces the risk of de
veloping diseases of the heart.
Again, our thanks to the
Print staff and to all the
students of Clackamas Com
munity College for their sup
port.
