College hosts high school drafting competiti^ The College will be sponsor ing a drafting skills contest for drafting students from various high schools in Clackamas Coun ty this month. Up to four students from each high school will be com peting in the contest, said Dave Madsen, department chairperson of drafting technology. "These students represent the best drafting students from their respective high schools and will be participating in three draft ing categories," Madsen said. The first category is designed for the freshmen and sophomore grade levels and will cover draft ing fundamentals. "The students will demonstrate the use of basic drafting techniques in this cate gory," Madsen said. ■ The second category, mechan ical drafting, will consist of the basic usage of drafting equip ment and drafting skills, he said. "This category will involve all grade levels," he said. The third category is archi tectural drafting and will deal with the designing of residential house plans, Madsen said. This category is also for all grade levels up to seniors, he said. Madsen said the contest was developed by the College staff and himself and is being sponsor ed by the College, Clackamas County high schools, and the Clackamas County Intermediate Educational District (IED). mitted to Dan Rickel, Estacada High School, P.O.
