television appearances
all over the world. He also
perfected his plate spinning
routine.
Bothe has appeared on many
programs, including ABC’s recent remake
of “Th e Gong Show,” with Jay Leno on
“Th e Tonight Show,” and in Las Vegas
at Caesar’s Palace and on Europe’s most
widely viewed variety show “Le Plus
Grande Cabaret du Monde” in Paris.
He currently resides with his wife and
family in Portland, where he performs
locally, leads team-building workshops and
teaches a circus arts program in metro-area
schools.
An Afternoon of Magic and Ice Cream
will begin with ice cream served from 1 to
1:30 pm, with Bothe taking to the stage
from 1:30 to 2:30 pm.

After the Festival of Illusions has been
packed away, the confetti swept from the
fl oor and the last stray bunny rabbit
successfully coaxed from under the
stage, magic will return to the
Lincoln City Cultural Center
for one afternoon only on
Saturday, April 25.
An Afternoon of Magic
and Ice Cream is a customer
appreciation event for Amy
Graham of Taylor & Taylor Realty
Co., combining a sweet treat with a show
from acclaimed magician Henrik Bothe and
the chance to get the scoop on the coastal
real estate market.
A native of Denmark, Bothe began
entertaining at the early age of three when
he drove the family VW bug into the sea.
With fortune on his side, he made a quick
escape and was soon mesmerized by plate-
spinning acts on “Th e Ed Sullivan Show.”
Before long, he was breaking his mother’s
plates and throwing his father’s knives in
the woodshop, which led to his enrollment
in the Aahus Th eater Academy.
In the early ’90s Bothe moved to Seattle
and headlined as an entertainer for major
cruise lines while working on “Neon Man,”
a glow-in-the-dark optical illusion that
