Harvest &
Holidays
Handcrafted goods from across the Pacific
Northwest will fill the Yachats Commons
this weekend as the Harvest & Holidays Arts
& Crafts Festival returns to jump-start the
holiday shopping season.
Now in its 22nd year, the juried craft fair
sees some 80 exhibitors offering everything
from jewelry, wood crafts and metal art to
bath and body products; photography and
gourmet dog treats.
Recycled and upcycled goods are a major
part of this year’s festival, with offerings
including Fire Song Garden Bells crafted
from recyclable fire extinguishers by Jack
Thomas from Rogue River; Bling Thing
framed wall art and greeting cards created
by Linda DeVoy of Newport, using vintage
and costume jewelry pieces; Jellyfish Lights
crafted from cast off and found objects by
Cindy Lippincott of Newport; and shadow
boxes by Jennifer Norman of Lincoln City,
filled with a collection of interesting trinkets
in a variety of styles.
The greatest gifts are often edible and
gourmet food producers will be on hand
throughout the weekend to offer free samples
of their delicious wares. Products include
Geez Smoked Cheese with several kinds of
cheese and smoked garlic; Dippity Doo Da
Dips gourmet dip mixes; Spiritopia liqueurs
By Pam Young
By Janette Square
and brandies; Stargazer’s Gourmet fudge,
chocolates, biscotti, caramels and other treats;
Walker Farms Gourmet Foods with canned
goods, jams, pickles and sauces, cheeses, frozen
meats, sauerkraut and fresh pasta; Oh Honey

hazelnuts and Celia’s Balsamics with aged and

nerves with a relaxing chair massage, while
community booths will offer the chance to
learn about groups including the Yachats Fire
Department and the Yachats Ladies Club,
which will be selling crafts alongside raffle
tickets for its scholarship fundraiser quilt.
The Harvest & Holidays Arts & Crafts
Festival, hosted by Crafts on the Coast,
will run from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday
and Sunday, Nov. 2 and 3, at the Yachats
Commons, 441 Hwy. 101 N.
Admission and parking are free for this
family-friendly event. For more information,

Beautiful quilts and other handmade
items will be available this weekend in
Lincoln City as St. Peter the Fisherman
Lutheran Church hosts its annual
Christmas Bazaar.
Running throughout Friday and
Saturday, Nov. 1 and 2, the bazaar will
also feature a Treasure Room full of
jewelry and gifts, a bake sale stocked
with home baked goodies, and freshly
cracked walnuts from the Yamhill Valley.
Besides the quilts created to sell at
the bazaar, the church also send quilts to
Lutheran World Relief for distribution
around the United States and the world.
New this year is the Jelly Roll quilt
project, which sees volunteers making
quilts for homeless students in Lincoln
City.
All proceeds from our event go
toward the church’s mission project,
which include local efforts such as My
Sisters’ Place, hospice, Lincoln City Food
Pantry, Neighbors for Kids in Depoe
Bay, Backpack Food Program, Family
Promise and Thanksgiving Dinner Boxes.
The bazaar is open both days from 10
am to 3 pm, with lunch served in the St.
Peter Cafe from 11 am to 2 pm.
The church is located on Highway
101 at SW 14th Street across from
Lincoln City Outlets.
