Remember, too, millions of coffee lovers “cream*
their coffee with Carnation.
Thrift extends beyond th'1
horizon of the coin; we could
save a little by grinding corn
with pestle and hollow stone;
we save more by buying our
flour in bags; we could use a
washboard and tub, a machine
docs it quicker, better; keys,
cogs and wheels add figures,
wire carries messages, checks
pay bills, sewing machines sew
faster, oil propels our wagons,
all of which saves time, money
and great chunks of ourselves.
The thrifty person saves pen
nies, and words; he's prudent,
f leet, farseeing, some call him
lucky; he’s the one who has
when others have-not.

Be Thrifty
To mark the anniversary of
the birth of Benjamin Franklin,
Jan. 17, we have a Thrift Week.
I doubt the veracity of this
statement but it is claimed,
"Franklin wouldn’t dot an I,
to save ink.” The moral is ob-
vious; "Few of us can save
much but all of us can save
little.”
