The game was lost in the first eight minutes of play. It was lost because there was no sprinter handy to catch the fleeting Hal Sullivan, who ran from the Willamette four 96 yards for a TD. The ball was recovered on the Wolverine four after the Wolverines had fumbled and re covered. following a kick off by the Grovers. The second TD was made from the Lion 38 yard line, when Jerry Gilbert worked a double hand off play from his left end and ran up another score, but in both instan ces the visitors failed to make the extra point. The Lions came back to make two threats. They lost the ball on the Willamette 12 and The Lions will meet the strong North Bend team at North Bend this Friday evening. three yard line. After the last stand failed, Larry Stanley threw a Wolverine ball carrier in the end zone for a safety and two points. Before the half, Jay Wilson ran a punt back to the Wolverine eight, a distance of 49 yards, but Sullivan caught him from behind. Wilson then dropped a pass which would have made six points and time ran out on the third threat. In the fourth period the Lions were able to make another threat by going to the Willamette ten yard line, but were stopped when Martin Hansen intercepted a Rad way pass. Williams, Clarence Smith and Greg Stewart and the lineman Castle and Stanley played headsup ball for the Lions, who were hampered by the limited service of Lowell Radway, out of the game most of the time on doc tors orders and Vic Fox, who was injured in the previous game. Making a belated effort the Creswell club made a TD in the 3rd and 4th quarters, after Drain had taken the load in the first quarter. The Bulldogs were unable to make the extra point in two tries and as a result came out of the game on the short end of a 13- 12 score. Drain scored first in the first quarter when Anderson ran over for the first TD and a pass to Weaver accounted for the PAT. Drain scored again in the 3rd quarter when Jim Whipple passed to Anderson, but failed to make the extra point. It looked like it was Drain's game until the Bull dogs went over on the 5 yard strip with Don Stevens carrying the ball. Again in the 4th quarter Creswell scored when Dick Kret- ten went over the 12 yard line, but failed on the extra point.
