The weather man literally threw the book at us this past week. Everyone manages to keep busy with snow shovels. The road grad er has been up the Overholser road twice it went a little far ther the second trip, though Alvin Allen’s arc more or less marooned yet. Maybe the next time up will oi»cn the road far enough to let them out with a car. Neil McCoy- of Divide was to see his mother, Mrs. Kitty McCoy Saturday. Larry Whaley E. F. S. A. who was home last week end reported a bad trip back to San Francisco. At one time in the Siskiyous it took the bus seven hours to go 18 miles. That was a week ago and from all reports travel on that route has been bad at all times. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Darnell and Mr. and Mrs. Hallie Cochran went to Eugene Saturday night. Mariel Jean Darnell who has been home from St. Helena. Calif., for a two weeks stay went with them to take a train back to the sani tarium where she is in nurses' training. The train. The Cascade, was seven hours late into Eugene. The train northbound was hours late and covered with snow. Ixiok- ing at the trains from both ways, one realized that this winter weather is spread out. Everyone is getting a share in it. Mr. and Mrs. John Gilbertson, their son Carrol and his wife and children from Springfield, were visitors with Mrs. Kitty McCoy Sunday. Won! has been received that M r s. Frank Wheeler of Bridal Veil, Ore., is very seriously ill fol lowing an operation. Her husband. Frank Wheeler, is a cousin of Os car and Hiram Wheeler and Mrs. Ernest Darnell. The meeting of the Neighbors Friendship club this week has been postponed due to the weath er and Mrs. Thomberg who was to be hostess has been ill. Mrs. Alvin Allen who was re ported to be recovering nicely from the mumps took them on the other side and has been ill again. She is said to be recovering. There was no school at the dis trict school Thursday due to the fact that the teachers attended the teachers’ workshop. Ross Overholser has been busy breaking side roads with his army truck, including the road in to George Overholser’s. The only- way they could get out was walk.
