Business was- conducted at a total expenditure of $1,086.40, of which amount $94535 was furnished by the city. Now books are constantly added to the shelves and hours now ' amount to three more per week than previously, afternoon open ings now being at 2 p.m. instead of tlie former 3 o'clock. Children will be interested to know that provision has been made whereby they may now bor row two books at one time.
